So one of my best clients (we'll call him "George" since that is his name) reads Angie's blog. In a random twist of fate, one of his best friends is now one of our associates (we'll call him "Associate #9" because he was the 9th associate to join and because I wanted to make a snarky reference to the Spitzer debacle). It also turns out I have been assigned by the firm to be Associate #9's mentor.
So in the legal world's pecking order, it goes something like this:
George
|
Chris
|
Associate #9 <-> George [best friends and roommates]
|
Chris again [since Associate #9 expects me to mentor him]
Basically, George gets after me for work, I get after George's friend for work and then George's friend gets after me for worrying too much about work and not mentoring him.
In honor of George pointing our my weakness as a mentor, here is today's random list of things I am good and bad at:
I am good at telling jokes and being the life of the party.
I am bad at knowing when to not tell a joke and stop being the life of the party.
I am good at being fun Dad who gives the boys what they want.
I am good at sports.
I am bad at crafts.
I am a master of the DVR.
I am still bad working with a VCR.
I am good with numbers.
I am bad with a personal budget.
I love working in the yard but I am bad at it :(
I hate housework but I am good at it :(
I am all man but I love picking out purses and shoes for Angie.
Obviously, I am great at long, boring blog posts!
*Don't worry George, no billable hours were harmed in the making of this post.

Angie...I am so spaced out I just found your comment on my blog today!!! It's March and you left it in December. How do I email you? My email address is theadrake@gmail.com
Any sentence that starts with, "I'm all man but..." has got to be worth reading on. This one was no exception.
Classic man. Still laughing.

You forgot: good at chit chat
You really are good at that. Even though you are all man, and no one is disputing that!!
We're going to miss you guys this week. Hmmmmmm...(that is a sad sigh.)
As your sister, I'm also blessed with the ability to tell jokes and be the life of the party...unfortunately, I also don't know when to stop either of those. But, when we're together Micheale, Mom, and Brooks (aka Doug) should beware 'cause we're "double the fun"!! :-) Rock on!!
Steph
P.S.--if Jim did any housework you'd have to resucitate me...just make sure to remove all metal first, I hear those defibrilators can leave a nasty burn...hence "CLEAR!!"
That is pretty dang funny.
